However cutting gifts isn’t realistic. You can’t really not give gifts to your kids for birthdays, Christmas, etc. I don’t see inflation going way down before the holidays in a few months. So lowering what you spend in that area would be a more realistic plan. Let me tell you if we didn’t get gifts for my inlaws or my parents for birthdays and Christmas they would be VERY upset.

The article doesn’t say remove tithing it says reduce donations/tithing amt. I agree no matter what trusting God with our finances, he stretches it where it doesn’t make sense on paper.

That should be a staple which is not to be removed. However, you might need to reduce it to match your income. I have done financial counseling for over 35 years and found when individuals and families keep this in their budget, their other spending works just fine.
